About Us
Meet our director: Margie
Margie Boone is founder and CEO of Margie’s House Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which connects the disadvantaged with the resources needed to become self-sustaining.
Margie’s House is having a positive impact in South Fulton County, currently serving 950+ families each month. Since its birth in 2016, Margie’s House, Inc. has distributed over 3M pounds of food!
Margie’s passion to address food insecurity is birth out the unfortunate reality that the need is great. There are too many children in South Fulton going to bed hunger! There are too many seniors having to make the unimaginable choice between putting food on the table and purchasing necessary medicine! There are too many single moms struggling to provide basic needs for themselves and their children! There are simply too many 2 income “working poor” families struggling to meet their basic needs.
Margie’s impact as a community leader has been acknowledged by many organizations. Margie’s House has been recognized as The New Agency of the Year in 2017 by the Atlanta Community Food Bank, The Community Partner of the Year in 2019 by College Park (GA) Alumni Chapter, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., The 2020 Unity in The Community Award by the South Fulton National Day of Prayer Committee, The Classy Living Award in 2022 by the Classy Living Society and an awardee at the 2023 Yellow Rose/Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award Ceremony to be hosted by the Women’s Legislative Caucus.
Margie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Management Information Systems from the University of West Georgia and a Master of Arts (MA) in Biblical Counseling from Luther Rice Seminary.
She is a native Georgian, a devoted wife of over 30 years, a proud mother of five adult children and an overjoyed grandmother of three beautiful babies.
Margie's House can't solve every problem or overcome every heart ache, but we are here to offer something everyone can use in difficult times...hope.
